Cruising through Georgian Bay and its 30,000 islands provides a wonderful opportunity to hear, smell, and see what makes this world biosphere reserve so special. This is the rugged island landscape that inspired the paintings of Tom Thomson and the Group of Seven.
Touch It
Being on the water allows you to experience Georgian Bay using only a few of your senses. Getting onto the islands lets you get close enough to touch and feel the biosphere. You experience up close what you could only imagine from a distance.
Feel It
With all of your senses engaged you can feel what makes Georgian Bay so special and why it was selected as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. And with the perspective provided by your guides on the Biosphere's natural and human history you are better able to imagine its future.
Whats New
Spring is about to morph into Summer and we are getting ready to take guests on adventures. Our season starts June 21st. The air and the water are warming up nicely. With the rain this Spring the islands are quite lush, and the water levels are at chart datum. This all promises to provide for a great season. We will provide more regular updates at our Facebook page.
Current News
With our upgraded qualifications we will be able to take guests everywhere in the Georgian Bay Biosphere. The bigger news is that we are working on a Lighthouse Adventure. We are finalizing the details but expect to have a full day adventure that includes visits to all three of the major lighthouses between Parry Sound and Pointe au Baril. Stay tuned.

Red Rock ecoAdventures - Beyond the Big Sound
Have you had the urge to get out and explore the scenery that inspired Tom Thomson and the Group of Seven? Have you enjoyed one of the big boat cruises operating out of Parry Sound and wished you could hop off and wander around on the rocks and dip your feet in the 'Bay?
Red Rock ecoAdventures (Red Rock Eco) offers you the opportunty to get out on the Bay, beyond the Big Sound, and explore the islands and islets that are part of the UNESCO Georgian Bay Biosphere Reserve. We take you out to wander and wonder, and introduce you to the history, ecology and natural beauty of this unique ecosystem by letting you experience it first hand.
Taking no more than four guests, we head out twice a day for a four hour guided exploration of the Biosphere. We have two different trips, both taking you beyond the Big Sound, to experience the best the Biosphere has to offer.
We use a late model unsinkable 21-foot Scout, the "Beagle", for a quick ride out beyond the Big Sound. The Beagle, big enough to be comfortable and safe is still small enough to let us take you in close to the islands to hop off and experience the Biosphere directly.
